Can I book a single seat, or do I have to charter the whole aircraft?

Both. On selected routes — typically major sport, festival, or cultural events — SkyBurn operates scheduled flights where you can book individual seats on aircraft from our curated fleet. For lodge transfers, bespoke routings, or travel outside those published sectors, you charter the whole aircraft so every detail is built around your group.

How fast can you arrange a charter?

When capacity exists on our network, often same-day. More complex routings (international sectors, remote strips, large groups) typically land in a 24–72 hour window. Our charter desk is staffed 24/7 — request a quote and we will respond.

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Helicopter charter starts around R 25 000–R 45 000 per flying hour. Single-engine turboprop from R 30 000/hr. Twin turboprop from R 55 000/hr. Light jet from R 75 000/hr. Pricing depends on aircraft, route, repositioning, and ground handling. Scheduled-flight seats start from R 3 500. Indicative guide prices — invoicing is in ZAR unless agreed otherwise.

What about safety and operator vetting?

Safety is the foundation everything else rests on. SkyBurn operates only aircraft that meet the highest international standards of airworthiness, maintenance, and crew certification — each holding a valid AOC, or where international routing requires it, an FAOC.

Every aircraft we fly is governed by the same regulatory framework as scheduled commercial aviation: rigorous maintenance schedules, certified flight crews, formal operational control, and full insurance coverage. We hold current certification, insurance, and crew credentials on file for every flight, and we audit them continuously.

Nothing flies under the SkyBurn name that doesn't meet that standard. It isn't negotiable, and it never will be.

Question 8

What if my flight is disrupted by weather?

Weather is a reality in aviation everywhere we fly. Safety decisions rest with the operating captain under their Air Operator Certificate. If a flight cannot operate legally or safely, we reschedule, switch aircraft type where possible, or refund according to our published terms.
